Must have a college degree and 2+ years of experience, or 5+ years of experience with domestic and basic foreign patent prosecution. Must have knowledge of USPTO rules and procedures. A basic understanding of foreign patent prosecution procedures is desirable but not required. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite - including MS Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint is required. Will support multiple attorneys and assist in docket management activities. The position is in Southwest Houston, TX. Detailed job requirements: Working knowledge of preparing and electronically filing various forms and documents with the USPTO; filing and managing non-provisional, provisional, divisional, continuation/continuation in part applications, and national phase applications; reporting to attorneys and clients. Must be experienced with researching PAIR and similar foreign databases. Should have experience preparing Information Disclosure Statements; coordinating execution of assignments, power of attorney documents, declarations; handling missing parts responses, petitions, notice of appeal, issue documents, and corrected documents. Routinely perform docket status checks, coordinate communications and transmittals related to applications, and manage interview requests. Working knowledge of some patent docketing system is a plus.
