Ideal candidates should have at least 1-5 years of legal experience and a desire to work with public school districts in the area of special education. This position involves building client relationships at the local level and could evolve into one which influences education policy on a wider scale. It affords an opportunity for attorneys seeking to more frequently advocate for clients outside of the adversarial context of traditional litigation. Work includes assisting clients in the individualized education program process, presenting workshops, reviewing and revising policies and procedures, responding to state and federal compliance complaints, and administrative due process hearings.
