We are a small but busy law firm located in Downtown Portland and are looking for a full-time Legal Assistant. To qualify for this position you will need to have the following: - A high level of competence with technology and devices, including how to quickly and easily use the common features of a desktop computer, software (including Word Perfect, Word, Excel, Gmail, Google docs, Dropbox, Adobe Acrobat), multi-line telephone system as well as using a copier and fax machine - Able to E-file in State, Appeals and District Court - The ability to interact with Court personnel, clients and adverse parties in a professional and polite manner - Be a self-starter and work with limited instructions - Draft cover letters, requests for production and edit documents - Prepare exhibits for trials - Prepare documents in response to discovery demands - Ability to stay on top of calendaring and scheduling - Continuously track the status of multiple cases at once - Desire to learn new things and the ability to adapt to frequently changing priorities and deadlines In return we provide: - Hourly compensation $16-18 per hour to start, DOE and the person hired will be starting with a temporary probationary period before permanent hire. - Payment of Health Insurance Premiums after three months of employment. - Tri-Met pass every month. - Paid Holidays - Vacation time after one full year of employment If this sounds like a good fit for you please submit a Cover Letter and Resume.
