Hallihan IP Partners Brings on Attorneys

Chicago-based intellectual property boutique Hallihan IP Partners, founded by William J. Hallihan this Spring, has brought on two veteran attorneys.

Gregory S. Umberson, MD joins from Ericsson, where he worked on both patent and trademark issues involving both the US and other countries. His JD is from Tulane University Law School; his LL.M in Intellectual Property Law is from John Marshall Law School.

Jose J. Aparicio is a registered patent attorney with experience working in IP law in the fields of biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, medical diagnostics, and medical devices. He also attended the John Marshall Law School, earning a JD and an LL.M.

The firm has also hired four patent agents: Donald F. Moyer, Ph.D, Jose J. Aparicio, Susan M. Davis, and David J. Bremer.

Ogletree Brings on Lawyers in New Orleans

Labor law firm Ogletree Deakins has brought on two associates from Kiesewetter Wise for its New Orleans, Louisiana labor & employment law practice group.

Elizabeth Harper Emmett represents management in employment matters. Her JD is from Tulane University Law School in 2000.

Monique R. Gougisha handles Title VII, the Americans with Disabilities Act, the Family and Medical Leave Act, the Age Discrimination in Employment Act and other federal and state employment laws. Her JD is also from Tulane University Law School, in 2002.

Ogletree Deakins Launches New Orleans Office

Ogletree Deakins will launch a new office in New Orleans this Friday.

Mark N. Mallery, who has been practicing labor & employment law in The Big Easy for more than twenty years, will be Managing Shareholder. He will be joined by colleagues Elizabeth Harper Emmett and Monique R. Gougisha, both Tulane Law School graduates with a combined fifteen years of labor and employment law experience. Emmett and Gougisha will hold associate positions with the firm.

The firm launched a Boston office in January.

With the addition of the New Orleans office, Ogletree Deakins now has 35 locations across the United States.
