<p>A <a href="http://www.jdjournal.com/2009/10/14/prop-8-challenge-allowed-to-proceed/">challenge to California&#8217;s Prop 8</a> has cleared an important hurdle&#8230;</p>

I don&#8217;t know, but it is.  Maria Shriver, the first lady of California, has been caught on film breaking the state&#8217;s no cell phone while driving law.  <a href="http://www.tmz.com/">TMZ.com</a>, a celebrity gossip site, has posted pictures and video of Shriver breaking the law on two occasions.  After being presented with the evidence, the Governator has promised &#8220;swift action&#8221;.  Schwarzenegger&#8217;s office later clarified the Governor&#8217;s comment, saying that he means he&#8217;ll ask his wife not to talk on her phone while driving.</p>
<p>If only she had waited a few more months&#8230; Schwarzenegger signed a bill into law today that bars the paparazzi from taking unauthorized photographs of celebs.  The new law makes it a crime to take  and sell photographs of celebrities while engaged in &#8220;personal or familial activity&#8221;.  Media companies that purchase such photographs will also face stiff fines under the new law.</p>
