They are Neil P. Calvin, formerly of Microsoft, and Albert S. Michalik.</p>
<p>Calvin is a registered patent attorney focusing on patent/intellectual property licensing.  Calvin was Associate General Counsel and Director of Patent Licensing at Microsoft Corp. for nearly nine years. In addition to supporting patent/IP issues for Windows, he formed and led Microsoft&#8217;s Patent Licensing Team and focused on IP issues in the areas of standards, open source software, outbound patent licenses, cross licenses, OEM software licensing, and joint development deals.</p>
<p>Michalik is a registered patent attorney with experience in all aspects of intellectual property law and a special emphasis on the preparation and prosecution of software and hardware-related patent applications. Michalik&#8217;s prior legal experience includes founding and growing his own law firm, where he represented Microsoft, among other clients. Prior to that, Michalik worked as a patent attorney in the Chicago office of Leydig, Voit and Mayer, Ltd.</p>

<p>Three attorneys are slated to take residence in the new office after bolting from the Atlanta office of Adorno &amp; Yoss. They are partners Tracey Walker and Stephen Lowe and associate Roxann Sherri Smithers.</p>
<p>&#8220;My colleagues and I are so pleased to join such a talented group of lawyers,&#8221; said Walker. &#8220;This firm works together as one team to provide our clients with expert representation on a full range of commercial litigation, labor employment and other legal matters. <p>Walker’s practice focuses on litigation of commercial, construction tort, and general commercial liability matters ranging from simple disputes to multi-million dollar claims. She has tried cases in state and federal courts across the country and in Puerto Rico.</p>
<p>Lowe’s practice focuses on commercial litigation of complex disputes in state and federal courts nationwide. He has represented owners, general contractors, designers and sureties in the construction industry on projects such as sports arenas, hotels, power plants, schools and office buildings in disputes involving delay and impact claims, as well as design and construction defects.</p>

<p class="MsoNormal">Gonzalez Saggio &amp; Harlan LLP revealed today that they will be opening an office in Nashville, bringing in Nashville attorneys Natasha L. Blackshear and Dennis Nunez.<span> </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span> </span>This will become the 13<sup>th</sup> office nationwide for the firm, which is well known for being one of the country’s largest minority-owned law firms.</p>
<p>“I am pleased to join forces with such a respected minority-owned law firm,” said Blackshear. “Gonzalez Saggio &amp; Harland brings the considerable resources of a nationwide law firm to bear on public and corporate finance matters in Nashville, Memphis and across the state of Tennessee.”</p>
<p>Blackshear worked as a venture capitalist at Council Ventures LP for five years and as a senior associate at PricewaterhouseCoopers’ Corporate Valuation Consulting division.</p>
<p class="MsoNormal">Registered patent attorney Dennis Nunez brings four years of experience in intellectual property law to the firm. Nunez graduated with honors from the Chicago-Kent College of Law, specializing in intellectual property law.</p>
