Ford - should turn the Chevy Commercial against them - they should have their own commercial - with Ford - either saving the day with a flying sauacer full of Ford Trucks driving off...or having many many more Ford Trucks - surviving like an army of them shooting down the flying saucers to "save the day" instead of 4 Chevy Trucks in one location....

Come on Ford - you can do it...

Once upon a time everyone that was set in their ways believe the earth to be flat and when they were told it wasn't things got nasty.

Politicians are relatively evenly divided on the global warming issue; scientists are overwhelmingly believers.

Never trust any one scientist. Usually trust a large majority of scientists who agree on a technical matter.

This isn't the first study like this. It is another hit piece where academics project their own prejudices against people who disagree with them and publish it as "science." Note the adjectives used. Liberal brain traits are "open minded" and "tolerant," where conservative brain traits are "fearful," "inflexible" and "racist." Why not "flighty" and "dissolute" for liberal brains and "deliberate" and "well-grounded" for conservative brains.

And, of course, the piece insults conservatives' intelligence. I suspect that the researchers failed to control for many variables, such as education level. People with higher IQs tend to have more university education, with also correlates with more liberal politics. Immersion of young people at university tends to do that.

The New York AG is a disgrace. Rather than take responsibility for ignorance, he want to point fingers at others and whine they did not tell him he was an idiot.
Selfish loser disgraces New York and himself... quit the WHINING and crying.... people are sick of the NY AG blaming everyone he can sue for his incompetence and ignorance. Sue the person who allowed the use of the DB without finding out why? No No, that would take brains and competence... better to blame someone else, later.
Take some responsibility, shut up and move on!

Is it so hard for somebody to actualy go down and look? Like they do to recover old champaign bottles... I don't understand. Especially if it were a speculated 'UFO' or 'USO' ... quite possibly discovering one of the greatest treasures of all time and history, and they make it public and don't make any hurry to get there. Lol???

It's not something that fell down -- it's something that rose up.

I think Mark may be right with a basaltic pipe. My first guess was a volcanic plug sheared off by glaciers during the last ice age. Volcanic plugs stick out because they're slowly cooled solid lava, while the cones around them are a mix of lava and ash, which is softer. There could be several in the area. Someone should check to see if the cracks and bits that look like the arms of a crescent are aligned with glacial striations on bedrock on the nearest land masses.

Mark - that's a very sensible interpretation of the image.

Other passes using different imaging techniques would be a good idea and the fact that it hasn't been done yet leads me to believe this is all a bit of advertising for the treasure hunting company.

Aliens visiting the earth have craft that can fly in space as well as craft that can travel under water. Just like UFOs (Unidentified Flying Objects), there are USOs (Unidentified Submersible Objects). The object they discovered by sonar may not necessarily be a crashed craft and may not even be there we they go back to check. However aliens have deliberately crashed their craft before in order to attract attention. See ufocoverup.org for more info

This is a USO not a UFO -- Unidentified Submerged Object. That's the technically correct term for objects under water. Most people aren't as familiar with that term, but the article probably should have at least mentioned the correct term and explained it.

Warner,

The wreck of the Tirpitz was broken up by a joint Norwegian and German salvage operation after the war from 1948 to 1957. Its gun turrets were relatively rectangular, so unless we are looking at them upside down, this explanation doesn't yet fit well.

I think its just a rock, myself.

The Bible is quite clear about "other Folds". However, as interesting as it's becoming, all is just conjecture sitting on the bottom broadening our imagination. Could be a remnant from a previous 100,000 year earthquake to an alien-made craft. We won't know until it's revealed, now or whenever. In the meantime, we're going gaga over something or nothing. Time for the Internet to chill down...

Could this be the same intelligence agencies who said Iraq had "WMDs"?

First it was Iran is trying to develop nuclear weapons; if I were them I'd fear an invasion by the West lead by the USA so I'd want nuclear weapons to deter this.

Now however Iran is suddenly the axis of terrorism; could it be the argument to invade Iran based on them developing nuclear weapons isn't working fast enough because it sounds like a desperate attempts to forward an agenda for "regime change" in Iran. Nothing to do with oil of course.

I'm no pinko liberal commie I just don't like being fed a load of BS.

Agreed... although the time is nigh .. truth needs to become more common place ... probably remnants of the air fight near Nuremburg in 1561 .. Cigar and Disc like objects fighting in the sky... the air battle could have easily made it north to this area...

I wish it was a UFO, but it looks very recognizable as a simple basalt pipe, a common geologic formation, and it would make sence that there would be others near by.

Warner, your WWII facts are in error. The article says the objects were found in the Gulf of Bothnia, between Sweden and Finland, which is the northern part of the Baltic Sea. The Tirpitz was not in the Baltic when it was sunk. It had been operating on the western side of the Scandinavian Peninsula nearly 500 miles away, in the Norwegian Sea and the Barents Sea. It was sunk in shallow water off Hakoy island, a well-populated island in the northernmost region of Norway, just offshore from the mainland. The ship never broke up or completely sank. It capsized and was salvaged for scrap for several years after the war. Even if this could have been the same location as the Tirpitz (which it can't), it would have been obvious because that location is well-known and highly documented.

I myself believe in many things in this world, first of all being God, however, I firmly believe that Religeous beliefs do not have to conflict with beliefs in other worldly beings or even the likes of bigfoot and the loch ness monster, Wether or not you belive in God, hopefully you do, God would have made each of them as well. I truely hope these turn out to truely be extraterestrial. Has anyone noticed there are already "experts" disputing the validity of any of the tests, scans. and any other indications it was something other worldly.
The faster the government gets involved the faster the smokescreen goes up, Mis-informstion is pumped to the minds of the world via the many forms of media (i.e...the internet,t.v., etc...etc...)
The rapid involvement by so many intellectuals snd nations governments usually results in an end to any further updates or information given to the general public. Then eventually nothing.....
This whole process fuels my belief in ancient aliens, modern aliens, being unfound does not make you non existing, ours is an ancient world. New discoveries are made daily all we have to do is look.

I think I solved the mystery of the object at the bottom of the Baltic Sea. It must be one of the forward turrets from the German Battle Ship Tirpitz. The Tirpitz was attached and sunk in 1944. The ship was reported to have broken up. This would account for the turret minus the big guns settling to the bottom causing a furrow as it came to rest. See attachment. Bummer. ;-(

The Advisory Committee's proposal asserts and predicts a great deal, but provides no hard data to support them. That alone should make it impossible for Rutgers's Board of Governors and Board of Trustees to vote in favor of the recommendation; doing so would likely violate those Boards's fiduciary duties.

Narrowing the focus a bit, if Rutgers were to disavow the School of Law in Camden, it would be bad both for the law school and for Rutgers as a whole. And, importantly, it would also fail Rowan. The School of Law is able to recruit the terrific faculty and students it has because of the Rutgers name and affiliation -- Rutgers has national and indeed global standing as a research university. Rowan does not and won't for years and years, or possibly ever. What this means, essentially and crucially, is that Rowan would not be getting the high-quality law school that Rutgers would be losing. And this returns to the Rutgers Boards's fiduciary responsibilities: between all the national and international fellowships the law faculty wins, the major books published, and the clinical and pro bono work it accomplishes, the School of Law in Camden adds value to Rutgers as a whole. Losing Camden law schooll would be a real blow to Rutgers University.

This is about the ability to group together literally the only two College/Universities located truly in South Jersey. Rutgers Camden is a research University with a terrific law school and a very good undergraduate business school. Rowan it a teaching University that has an excellent engineering program and good communications school. Now the proposed "new research school" will be obtaining a medical program at Cooper in addition. Not to mention Rowan has about 10,000 students and Rutgers is around 5,500 including all the MBA students. If you combine the resources and programs that these two Universities already offer then this 'new' school will have a lot of potential. It could mean many good things for South Jersey. However, I hope Christie has really considered all the decisions involved with the merger before making a bold statement like this. First, as far as changing the name from Rutgers-Camden to Rowan, it is a shame for us RU-C. I go to Rutgers-Camden and will graduate with a Rutgers-Camden degree this May '12. The truth is that Rutgers is located in New Brunswick, NJ. As far as the University goes, much of its accreditation has came from there, so I can understand the name change. The next problem is that Rowan will be inheriting a campus located in good ole' Camden. Us students know there are certain directions you can't travel too far, and we receive mugging or gunshot emails at an uncomfortable rate. His next problem is configuring the bachelors and masters programs that will be offered and choosing which professors, from which university, will be teaching them. Included in this will be how much they will be paid. Because Rutgers is a research institution I am almost positive that their professors are paid more than Rowans. Obviously, a decrease in pay to Rutgers professors will make them unhappy. Aside from this, there are tons of logistics and IT info and paperwork and tuition info and plenty of other factors that need consideration. However, possibly the most important factor in getting this whole operation to work will be the cooperation of the staffing departments at both schools. Considering all this work, I just don't see this merger actually happening. If it does, it is because they have some serious financial backing. If it does, I hope that there is room for all of the teachers at both schools because I have personally been taught by some extremely bright professors at Rutgers Camden.
