Lloyd Blankfein: CEO of Goldman Sachs Lloyd Blankfein became a billionaire in 2015 when the company’s stock skyrocketed. In 1978, he graduated from Harvard Law School before embarking on his lucrative finance career.

Stephen Breyer: Stephen Breyer returned to his alum Harvard Law to become a professor from 1987 to 1980. In 1994, President Bill Clinton appointed him to the United States Supreme Court.

Ted Cruz: Leader of the Tea Party movement and 2016 Republican presidential nominee, Ted Cruz, graduated from Harvard Law in 1995. He is currently a senator in Texas.

Rutherford B. Hayes: Rutherford B. Hayes graduated from Harvard Law in 1845 and went on to become the first president who was a Harvard alumni.

Elena Kagan: President Obama appointed the 1986 Harvard Law alumni, Elena Kagan, to the Supreme Court in 2010. Before that, she was Harvard Law’s dean from 2003 until her SCOTUS appointment.



Anthony Kennedy: Fascinatingly unpredictable Supreme Court Justice Anthony Kennedy was appointed by Ronald Reagan in 1988. He graduated from Harvard Law in 1961 and has taught constitutional law at the University of the Pacific’s McGeorge School of Law.

Loretta Lynch: Loretta Lynch became the first black woman to serve as the U.S. Attorney General. She graduated from Harvard Law in 1984.

Ralph Nader: Ralph Nader graduated from Harvard Law in 1958, and he ran for president multiple times with the Green Party. In 2015, he accused his alma mater of feeding into corporate greed.

Barack Obama: Barack Obama graduated from Harvard Law in 1991 and he went on to become a University of Chicago professor, Illinois State Senator, and two-term president of the United States. He also broke barriers by becoming the first black president. Not too shabby for good ol’ Barry.

Michelle Obama: Michelle Obama was a 1998 Harvard Law School graduate, and in 2008, she became the first African-American First Lady. During her time in the White House, she championed health and made exercising cool for kids. Prior to that, she was a lawyer in Chicago and associate dean at the University of Chicago.

Sumner Redstone: The media mogul Sumner Redstone graduated from Harvard Law School in 1947. He is the chairman for CBS and Viacom, and his fortune is valued at $5 billion.

John Roberts: Supreme Court Justice John Roberts graduated from Harvard Law in 1979. Prior to SCOTUS, he was a judge on the US Court of Appeals in Washington D.C.

Mitt Romney: Before Mitt Romney was thrust into the national spotlight as the Republican nominee running against Democrat Barack Obama in 2008, he was a dual degree holder from Harvard Law and Harvard Business School. He later went on to become a successful businessman and governor of Massachusetts.

Antonin Scalia: The late Antonin Scalia was a prominent conservative voice on the Supreme Court until his passing in February. He graduated from Harvard Law in 1970.
