Kappel’s practice focuses on political law involving government ethics, lobbying and campaign finance at the local, state and federal levels. He has represented members of Congress, trade associations, corporations, political action committees, candidates for public office and Super PACs.

He has worked as general counsel to Ron Paul’s 2012 presidential campaign and represented Rand Paul Alan Grayson in front of the Federal Election Commission.
