Atzen Leaves Sheppard Mullin to Join Perkins Coie

Law firm Perkins Coie announced that Jonathan F. Atzen has joined the firm’s Emerging Companies & Venture Capital practice as a partner in the Los Angeles office. Before joining Perkins Coie, Atzen was a partner with Sheppard Mullin.

Atzen has extensive experience in representing publicly traded and private technology companies with respect to equity and debt offerings and has advised entrepreneurs and companies on numerous venture capital financings and mergers and acquisitions. He works with clients in the Internet, e-commerce, software, life sciences, mobile technologies, and alternative energy industries and regularly represents venture-backed companies and private equity/venture capital funds, angels and technology accelerators in their investments in technology companies.

Atzen also has significant experience guiding clients involved in public and private mergers and acquisitions. His career includes serving as general counsel to a venture capital fund and was Senior Vice President and General Counsel of Advanced Cell Technology, a publicly-traded regenerative medicine technology company.

Jonathan Atzen earned his J.D. from the Loyola Law School, Los Angeles and his B.A. undergraduate degrees in both economics and political science from the University of California, Santa Barbara.
