Tuition Costs Ranked, West Virginia University’s College of Law in Top 100
Established in 1878 as the first professional school in the state of West Virginia, West Virginia University College of Law remains the only law school in the state. U.S. News & World Report listed WVU’s full-time Juris Doctor Program as 83rd in the nation in 2014. According to U.S. News rankings, West Virginia University’s College of Law is ranked in the top 100 law schools in the nation, and according to the Register Herald, also has one of the lowest reported tuition rates in the country. The lists most expensive law school was No. 4, Columbia University in New York at $57,838 per year. The schools publication, the West Virginia Law Review is the fourth oldest law school journal in the nation.
Forbes ranked WVU as number 30 in their top 100 list of best buy colleges and a number of the school programs were ranked in U.S. News and World Report’s 2015 edition of “America’s Best Graduate Schools. 194 fully accredited American Bar Association schools were ranked by U.S. News based on a weighted average of 12 measures of quality, including peer assessment, assessment by lawyers/judges, selectivity, median Law School Admission Test scores, median undergraduate GPA and acceptance rates.
James Jolly, Director of Communication, said that “It’s nice to get the recognition,” according to the Register Herald Jolly stated that, “I think we’ve earned it and I think the members of the law school community think we’ve earned it.”
