Usher’s ex-wife, Tameka Foster, filed for emergency custody in Fulton County Superior Court. The former couple divorced in 2009, and Usher had received primary custody of their two sons in 2012. The former couple’s five year old son, Usher Raymond V, nearly drowned and lost his life after being stuck in a pool filter. Usher himself had attempted to get his son out but wasn’t not able to.  Fortunately the child was rescued and resuscitated by two men working in the house and is healing at the Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta at Scottish Rite. Usher Jr. is already sitting up, eating, talking, and laughing. Usher Jr. will remain in the hospital under doctors’ care and surveillance, as he will continue to be monitored until he is completely recovered.
The child’s mother accuses R’n’B singer Usher of negligence and failure to properly supervise the minor child, according to E!. She also mentions that Usher is very career focused and never home to take care of the kids, using babysitters and caregivers while he is out of town working on either television shows or his recordings.  Tameka Foster only has limited custodial rights of Usher Jr. and his younger brother Naviyd. She claims that the children are at risk while Usher travels the world and is asking a Georgia judge to immediately award her custody.
