Kathy Griffin Puts Anderson Cooper in Awkward ‘Position’ on CNN NYE Telecast

On Monday night, CNN hosted its own New Year’s coverage featuring Anderson Cooper and comedienne Kathy Griffin. Griffin has made waves in the past on television during New Year’s Eve shows.

Some of her antics in the past include dropping an f-bomb, taking off her shirt, and shouting at a heckler in the crowd until the heckler was finally defeated. To top off all of her antics on New Year’s Eve, Griffin put Cooper in a very awkward position, so to speak.

Griffin decided to drop down to her knees and head for Cooper’s crotch.

“Kathy, oh, did you drop something?” Cooper joked.

Griffin made quite a few attempts at Cooper’s crotch, with Cooper pulling Griffin back up each time she made an attempt. Cooper even held up a “No Nudity” sign that was put on the set by CNN after Griffin removed her shirt during last year’s telecast.

Cooper and Griffin have been hosting CNN’s New Year’s Eve telecast for six years, including 2012, so Cooper should have been used to Griffin’s antics. Just 10 minutes into the broadcast, Cooper was already laughing nervously, which is when Griffin said, “I’m going to tickle your sac.” She said, “Do you have a sac?”

“I don’t know what you’re talking about,” Cooper said. “I have no sack of Christmas presents here.”

“Do you call your privates your Christmas presents?” Griffin said. “Typical hot guy.”
