Texas entered the Union, having been a Republic, under a Treaty, which states that Texas can secede from the Union only if it reverts back to a Republic status. The Confederacy did not meet the requiresments of the Texas Treaty.

If that happens then citizens of each state will feel like I do when asked where I am from. When I answer that I came from Montenegro people think that is a province in Brazil. However, it is a country on Balkan( used to be part of former Yugoslavia). Also, in his speech , while visiting the USA in 1974, Tito said as long as we are united no one will dare to attack us and we will defend our country. Sadly, people of Yugoslavia forgot that. Here, each state, if separated will become pray for the "wolfs".

Secession petitions are good PR but bad politics. There is a way for states to legally and politically secede from the American union but it must be a state-by-state process established by constitutional secession conventions in each state.

Obvious liberal reply "Brandt."

Of course, you wouldn't even fathom that this could have to do with policy and debt, and NOT about skin color, could you ?

Enjoy California!

The racism of yesteryear has come full circle in our county. The entire world embraced our choice of a black President four years ago and most nations of the world still support him. The fringe elements of Republican sect have crept through into the mainstream once again with conservative mouthpieces planting the seeds of hate. The only doubt lies here at home rooting from bigotry.
