Law Firms from Alabama and Florida Merge to Grow Bigger

Alabama law firm Balch & Bingham LLP announced on Wednesday that it would be expanding its operations to Florida by merging with Stoneburner Berry Glocker Purcell & Greenhut P.A. Balch has an office in Montgomery while Stoneburner is based in Jacksonville, Florida. The merger has been approved by the partnerships of both firms and would be effective from mid-October.

 

Stoneburner is a boutique law firm specializing in banking, wealth management, and transactional practices with six attorneys. Balch & Bingham’s Montgomery office managing partner Riley W. Roby said in a press release, “We welcome the Stoneburner team, as the merger will add value to all of our clients while enhancing Balch’s national representation as a dominant financial services practice.”

 

Riley further said, “Many clients served by our Montgomery office have operations in Florida … Our move into Florida is a proactive effort to follow our clients’ needs as they grow.”

Currently, the Montgomery office of Balch & Bingham LLP has 19 attorneys and focuses on traditional practice areas like litigation, commercial transactions, and dealing with the government. The new law firm would maintain Balch’s current headquarters in Birmingham. Balch & Bingham has offices in Alabama, Mississippi, Georgia, and Washington D.C.
