Michael Clarke Duncan’s Death Devastates His Fiancée Omarosa Manigault

“The Green Mile’s” Michael Clarke Duncan has broken a lot of hearts with his death last Monday, after two months of hospitalization subsequent of full cardiac arrest July 13. But the one most affected, perhaps, is Omarosa Manigault, who was secretly engaged to him. TMZ reports that their wedding was set for January, and that the couple had plans to start a family.

“[I like] her personality,” said Duncan about Manigault in 2010 to HollywoodLife. “Really! She’s very knowledgeable. She’s the first woman that I can wake up next to and knows all about politics and what’s going on in the world. The world, defense, what’s going on with the President’s program. Anything and everything. She’s very intelligent.”

Omarosa sat beside him for 50 days at Cedars- Sinai Medical Center, hoping he would recover. She actively sought doctors to be flown in to administer to him.

“I am devastated,” she told Radar Online. “He was the love of my life.”

The couple started dating in 2010 and only told a few close friends and family of their engagement.

Duncan’s director in “The Green Mile,” Frank Darabont, shared the sentiment of many when he said, “I’m devastated at the loss of Michael Clarke Duncan. One of he finest people I’ve ever had the privilege to work with or know. Michael was one of the gentlest of souls — an exemplar of decency, integrity, and kindness. The sadness I feel is inexpressible.”
