Larry Wachowski Reveals Sex Change

Lana Wachowski, the director for the movie ‘The Matrix’ and the anticipated film called ‘Cloud Atlas,’ is the first director in Hollywood to come out as transgender. Wachowski revealed the news when she was promoting her new film, ‘Cloud Atlas.’ It has been reported that Wachowski was prepping for the switch for a couple of years. The new movie stars Halle Berry and Tom Hanks. The movie embedded in this post is reported to be the first appearance in public by Wachowski since she transitioned.

Lana Wachowski introduces the movie in the trailer while with her brother Andy and the director of the film Tom Tykwer. Wachowski says, ‘Hi, I’m Lana,’ while sporting pink dreadlocks in the video. The life of Wachowski has been in the public eye for quite some time, dating back to a public divorce with wife Thea Bloom in 2002. One of Wachowski’s dates to the Cannes Film Festival told tabloids from Britain that Wachowski liked to cross dress. Journalist Dave Poland reported in an article published by Gothamist in 2003 that Wachowski was going through a sex change.

“Every indication I have says that Larry Wachowski is now in the process of changing his sex,” Poland wrote. “Dressing in public like a woman, taking female hormones and yes, having a sex change operation.”
