A woman in Utah has been arrested for allegedly aiding her 13-year-old daughter text nude photos of herself to a 30-year-old man. The woman, who is 35, is from Duchesne County and was charged in district court with sexual exploitation of a minor in three counts.
According to the Sheriff’s Office in Duchesne County, the teen informed detectives that she has a boyfriend who is older and who lives in Oregon. The teen also told detectives that the man sent her a cellphone and asked her to send him nude photos of herself. The girl claims she could not figure out how to use the phone, which prompted her to ask her mother for help. According to the police, the mother helped her daughter take three nude photos with the phone. Those pictures were sent via text message to the man in Oregon.

The woman’s name is not being released by police in order to protect her underage daughter. Police said that when they questioned the mother she admitted to helping her daughter take pictures with the phone. She also admitted that she knew the teen was going to send the pictures to the man in Oregon. All of the charges, which are second-degree felonies, can come with a maximum of eight years in prison and $15,000 fines. Authorities in Oregon have been notified of the man and they have launched their own investigation regarding the photos.
