This article reports that there seems to be a trend amongst law firms to quietly reduce their staff including lawyers, during this economic downturn. An exception has been the firm of Bingham McCutchen, which is being more open about the situation. This firm is apparently fiscally sound, and the layoffs appear to be reflexive to the marketplace. Several other large law firms have done the same.
