@kim and @ben if you read the article it say that he settled out of court with a couple from the show some time ago and that this law suit is NOT from the show the news article has two different suit in it re read the bottom half. David is a wonderful event planner and i do think this people are just upset that they didn’t get an appearance from him. The My Fair Wedding bride was a two-faced bride that loved everything she pick but hated it later. She was horrible. I would have done the same settle out of court to get them to go away. Like all the other women who watch what he does I would be honored and surprised to have him plan my wedding.

@ ladylund: if you read the article again, it clearly states that this couple was NOT featured on davids reality show. they had instead, hired him, wanting a small romantic wedding costing no more then 10,000$ but upon hiring david as a normal every day planner, he got a little wedding crazy and upped the price of the wedding to nearly 30,000$ thats a lot of money the couple did not want to spend. and then to top it off, he did not show up to the wedding. now, i dont know the specifics, as none of us do, but if david himself said that he would be at the wedding, but then never showed, i can understand why the couple would be upset. either way, my opinion of david has not changed after reading this article. i believe david to be a very generous man and a miracle worker. i would be honored to have him plan my wedding!

Don’t you people want to have a special, personal wedding??? Granted, this guy has to know what he is doing…He better with such a large fee…But at the end of the day, this becomes David Tutera’s wedding influenced by the bride and groom. Just do your own damn planning and don’t be lazy. We have this thing called the internet. It makes every aspect of planning a wedding that much easier. Here is an idea. While you watch his show for 10 hours a week, do your own research. multitasking!

Then there are the people who simply want there 15 minutes of fame. You wretched people are definitely out there, probably regularly posting on this site. Please do not even respond to this post if you fall into that category.

Side note: I love all of you saying how sweet and caring David Tutera is as if you guys are best friends. Cracks me up. Do you also believe the show Survivor is real? What about Wrestling?

I love David! He goes above and beyond for ALL of his brides because it’s what he loves to do! The couple from My Fair Wedding who sued him- if it is who I think it is- just wanted an expensive wedding for free AND just wanted to get money out of David. I SAW their episode and THE BRIDE chose everything herself or happily agreed with David but all of a sudden at the reception she decided it was “nothing she asked for” and manipulated her groom into thinking David didn’t listen to her and just did his own thing- they even stormed out of their own reception because of it- even though she was the one who picked everything out! I’m guessing the only reason he settled and gave them money was to get rid of them! She was such a snotty/two faced bride I would have paid them to go away too! David is a wonderful man and I support him whole-heartedly!

My husband & I used David Tutera for our wedding planning while we were living in California. I would prefer not to mention what we spent on our ceremony & reception, but it was considerably more than 15k. We never met with the man or spoke to him. We worked with his staff who listened to what we were looking for & provided many options. It wasn’t like the tv show where it was a surprise. We were involved in every step. It was a beautiful day & I wouldn’t change a thing. I can’t comment on David as a person, but he has an entertaining tv show & seems to have a successful business.

I think it’s crazy that they expected him to fly to another country for $5000. Yes, they handed him $15,000 total, but it sounds like they expected $10,000 of that to go towards the wedding. Who knows what their agreement was though.

What a shame that people whould sue anyone trying to help someone live out there dream wedding. How UNGREATFUL people are these days. I am an older mother of a daughter who would LOVE for David to step in and give my daughter the wedding of her dreams some day.I dought that I live long enough to see my daughter get married let alone give her that dream wedding. I would be so greatful to have him do this for her in my name some day.I was raised in the day and time when you have respect for people and what the try to do for you and love them for there efforts and I have raised my daughter to do the same. We watch the show often together and feel bad for David and how people act on the show no RESPECT and only thinking of themselves. Right it is there wedding day but, be GREATFUL the show is trying to give you something you couldn’t afford in the first place!! Thanks David

OK people just because you see him on tv doesnt mean you know him! Many ppl act a in a way that will get them ratings. Do you really people would love him and watch the show if they showed him as an asshole? Or how he may talk to his vendors and staff NO. So dont think you truly know him just because you watch him every weeding for years on end, or have met him breifly at a meet and greet. Like everyone he can be very sweet, very ddiva like and very nasty.

People rely on Daviss expertise and excellent taste. I cant believe that Snowey Black bithed about a $500,000 FREE wedding and embarrassed herself by walking out! Way to go trash your family and friends must still deny knowing you! Incidentally that was a lot of chcken that might have gone to feed many hungry people!

As far as I am concerned, some of the brides think that they are all that and then some. Well large news bullitin to them, NOT! David Tutera is a quite knowlegable and talented Wedding Planner with all of the qualities that can give a bride dreams that they can never dream of. So this couple that are/or have tried to sue David, should really check themselves out first! I believe, there is a contract that has to be signed before he takes on their wedding planning. If you don’t want to walk into the shoes of the contract, then take your sad self out and march another tune somewhere else and give that planner aggravation! David doesn’t need it! And furthermore, why he didn’t come to your wedding is quite obvious, I wouldn’t go either! Just saying!

I luv David and I cry when I see the great things he does for the brides with the unsual ideas.

The people that file lawsuits are disrespectful and just ungrapeful. Don’t ask for help from a professional, if you are not going to take the advise. Again, he is the professional.

I do not believe he didn’t deliver what was expected of him. There has to be more to the story n which is not being presented. If the particular couple did not need professional help they would have never seeked the help of David Tutera. I mean lets be honest, who plans a wedding with no cake, flowers, nor invitations? I believe (although I could be wrong) that the couple is just trying to seek quick money, when instead they should be happy that their wedding was more than they could have presented to their guest and for themselves! I hope for David’s sake that the law suit be dismissed and he can move on to perfecting other wedding to more appreciative people.

David Tutera is the best everrrrrr. He is so sweet;even when those “broke” people who want him to plan their wedding come off so ungreatful. The brides don’t want to wear the dress he chooses. They want to drink beer from the bottle, etc. He is truly a gifted man.

There is a difference from hiring David Tutera and getting CASTED for MY FAIR WEDDING if you get Casted on MY FAIR WEDDING Production with WEtv pay’s for everything and then your wedding is showed on WEtv’s My fair wedding and Davis Tutera plans and host. If you hire David Tutera you pay for everything. And come on weddings in Dominican Republic are not that expensive unless you are paying for everyones flight hotel and so on my cousin had a beautiful wedding in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic that included flowers seating, food and drinks and paid 8k for 20 guest and she did pay for hotel stay for all her guest. Now if she would have hired a Celebrity Wedding planner is going to coast you some money a normal wedding planner is around $2,000.00 that does not include anything they just help you PLAN you still have to pay for everything. So the couple got what they paid for if you don’t pay for flowers, food, Dj and so on you get nothing. I think it’s just another person trying to get something for nothing.

I had an opportunity to attend an event at the Kennedy Center that was done by David Tutera and his staff. He was in attendance that night. The ceremony was fantastic. The lighting, seating, the food all were excellent. And meeting David was an extra bonus. Apparently that night he was in human mode. not in celebrity super-star mode. He was polite, conversational, and very down to earth. Now this might have been an act but if it was he deserved an academy award. This lawsuit could be legitimate or it could be like alot of other. Totally unfounded and without merit. $15,000 for a destination wedding is unheard of. $30,000 is more in the realm of possibility. As the mother of 3 daughters all of whom had weddings of more than 125 guests, the average price was approx $40,000. The wedding planner that we used acted as an advisor and assistant to the bride. She made arrangements but left most of the decisions to the bride.

I think they must have misunderstood something. I would understand that his personal fee alone would be 15K then another 15K to do the wedding itself. It would only make sense that the guy would want to get paid! I mean I have been to lavish wedding parties, 50K and up, and I honestly could not tell where the money had gone. Now, if they got a wedding for 30K and are still complaining, they must be nuts! If you wanted a small party, you should’ve done it yourself. 10K for a wedding, is nothing!

This reminds me how i quit my last job waitressing.
a couple complaints to the floor manager about my service. Surprise to me because i had done nothing wrong. She complaint that I was being nicer to my other guest. Her party was particularly sad people. I did my job gave her graciously and correctly what she and her guest wanted. but I felt that she wanted me to love her and her family- and just didnt. terribly pathetic people.

After I read this story. I can’t believe what went wrong… But for me to say.. at this time every things are so expansiveness. $15-$30 of thousand dollars is nothing at all… I have never had one big dream wedding yet, but I read alots, I know it’s very difficult to plan a perfect wedding. If you really want a perfect wedding. Do it your own or find your own local wedding planner? Or Does your marriage going to be last to worth that much of money? If your marriage is going to be last, I think you don’t have to spend that much money for that perfect wedding. Just do a regular beautiful wedding is perfect enough.. Am I right? Or Am I wrong? For me, I like only a beautiful wedding for a real wedding and at least my marriage last forever…that all! What the big deal to spend all those $30Ks? Is it worthy or isn’t worthy? I want to know…

I work in the catering industry. We had given Mr. Tutera quite a large amount of food in trade in 2010. Obviously you know that the people chosen for the show are picked for a more drama type show. This is to enhance ratings and taking a woman’s dreamy wedding day and giving her something she could not have even considered on her own. I had never met him until the day we taped and thought it would be nice if mu boss and I could meet the man. I have always admired his work. Sadly, we were told not to call him David?
My boss was completely floored as he was told to call DT “The Talent”? We both laughed as it seemed a bit odd. Sad to say, we have worked with the same vendors on our show and they too were told he specifically wanted to be called “The Talent”. I don’t understand much of the lawsuits, I don’t really care. I do know that the experience for our company was not one which is favorable.We won’t particpate in this show again. We were told that we would have proper advertisment. I think in the 5 hours that we were prepping with chef and then watching the show, we were lucky if it was a 1/2 of a second long. Claudia is completely on par with this. These shows are not real 100% you can tell bad editing. But lawsuits are real and it seems after googling just now, this is not the first. It’s sad because look how happy these girls are. Yet, is it genuine or made for T.V.? I hope this is all a lie, it’s an enjoyable show. Just Sayin…

david is all about the money!! I attended one of his wedding and I was not impress at all. The location was terrible in a filming studio. There where 120 guest and only 3 tables and about 10 chairs during the cocktail hour. The wedding was 2 hours late. There was no AC. The bar at the cocktail reception was a table drape with a shinny cloth and 3 plastic buckets full of drinks I felt as if I was at a back yard party. The reception did not have enough tables or chairs for all 120 guests. There were couches places randomly around the room with silverware on the end tables for people to grab and eat. This was not a great at all. Yes maybe be because it was one of weddings that he provides thru is wedding sweepstakes, but if I’m a famous wedding planner everything I do must be over the top because it has my name attached to it. Having plastic buckets to hold the drinks at one of my weddings or my seating arrangement not properly done were the grooms parents did not have a table is unacceptable. I could’v plan the wedding for this couple and make it look 100 better than what david did. I’m just saying!!

Yes, it’s true we don’t actually know the people we see on TV. But I do think that David Tutera is a wonderful person. He really seems to be. He is SO overly talented. I would be blessed to have had him plan my wedding, and to just get to know him. I also to agree with the many people whom have said that know one really knows the whole story. People lie just to get something for nothing. Morals have almost completely have gone out the window these days. Look at the woman whom sued McDonalds “for makeing her son fat”. When yet…WHO BOUGHT IT FOR HIM AND LET HIM EAT IT?! Then there was also a lawsuit to ,I believe McDonalds as well, because a customer spilt HOT coffee on themselves and got burnt! HELLO…coffee tends to be HOT! See what I mean. People are theives. David you’re great. Someone with his status would be REALLY stupid to pull something like the couple claims, and ruien their rep.

i started watching davids my fair wedding a few months ago. i was hooked immediatly. your work is heavenly fantastic.i live in toronto, canada.
it is on saturday on rogers cable channel 35
from 11 am-5pm.i watch the whole 6 hours.
no one beleives untrue nasty stories.
