Bank Robber Calls 911 to Turn Himself Into Police

Police officers in Cincinnati solved what possibly could be the easiest crime to figure out on Friday. They really did not have to break a sweat when it came to ending a bank robbery.

A U.S. Bank branch was robbed by Frank Coleman at 2 p.m. on Friday. Police also say that less than 30 minutes after the robbery, Coleman called 911 to turn himself into authorities at a shopping mall in the area.

Coleman was able to secure $2,000 before fleeing the bank. As Coleman handed the teller a note that said ‘put the money in the bag,’ Coleman’s plans almost backfired. As the teller read the note, he replied that the bank does not have any bags. Coleman prepared for this hurdle and provided the teller with a plastic bag. It was also reported that Coleman did not use a weapon to steal the money.

Not long after the robbery, Coleman called 911 to say that he was the suspect and that officers could arrest him at the Tower Place mall.

There were no reports issued as to why Coleman changed his mind after the robbery and decided to turn himself into authorities. There were reports early on that Coleman flagged down a taxi to escape from the bank but one police officer said that no such thing happened. Coleman was arraigned on Saturday.
