2-Year-Old Son Aids Police in Arresting Father

Despite his parent’s example, this two-year old boy believes that honesty is, indeed the best policy.

The Tampa Bay Times received a St. Petersburg police report that revealed the account. This young boy told authorities that his father, Valdet Gjeloshi, was hiding in the attic. The police quickly went it and followed this child’s lead.

Gjeloshi, a fugitive wanted for battery and violating probation, hid away while his wife, Megan Merschen, tried to convince officials that her husband was not home. In an unfortunate turn of events for Gjeloshi, the two-year-old did not understand the ruse he and his wife were attempting. The young boy insisted that his father was hiding in the upstair attic. Police soon found Gjeloshi and had him handcuffed.

This isn’t the first time a child’s knowledge has aided in police arrests. In fact, it has happened several times throughout crime history. Children have always been honest people, and it seems that loyalty to a parent’s lie cannot even stop the honesty of a child.

The Deccan Chronicle reported last year that a two-year-old child told authorities that his mother was killed by his father. Other examples include children ratting their parent out on crimes such as molestation and drug possession.
