Former Motion Pictures Associations of America IP Counsel Joins Greenberg Traurig

greenberg traurigGreenberg Traurig announced today that Joseph Geisman has joined its Intellectual Property and Technology Practice as of counsel in the firm’s Los Angeles office.

Prior to joining the firm, Geisman served as intellectual property counsel at the Motion Picture Associations of America, Inc. (MPAA) for the past three and a half years.

Geisman’s focuses his practice on copyright, trademark, right of publicity, entertainment, media, technology, Internet and First Amendment matters, including related litigation. He also counsels clients on the development, protection and prosecution of intellectual property rights, prosecutes trademark applications and manages intellectual property portfolios.

In the press release, Jeff Scott, co-managing shareholder of Greenberg Traurig’s Los Angeles office was quoted as saying: “Joe’s copyright and trademark experience, coupled with his recent position as a former in-house counsel, make him a great addition to our firm. His practice complements our firm’s media and entertainment transactional and litigation groups, as well as our trademark and brand management team.”
