Sidley Austin Comes Out Strong in U.S. News Rankings

sidley austinSidley Austin topped all law firms in the inaugural U.S. News “Best Law Firms Survey” released Thursday with 20 first-tier national rankings out of the 39 practice areas that were ranked.

Sidley outperformed more than 10,000 U.S. law firms that were evaluated. In addition to its strong national performance, Sidley also received 26 first-tier ratings in the survey’s regional rankings.

“I want to congratulate Sidley Austin on its extraordinary performance in the U.S.News – Best Lawyers ‘Best Law Firms’ rankings for 2010,” said Steven Naifeh, president and founder of Best Lawyers, which conducted the survey along with U.S. News. “With twenty first-tier rankings, Sidley Austin received more first-tier national rankings than any other firm in the United States.”

The practice areas that received first-tier national ratings included Antitrust, Banking and Finance, Bankruptcy and Creditor Debtor Rights/Insolvency and Reorganization, Biotechnology, Communications, Corporate, Derivatives and Futures, Energy, General Commercial Litigation, Insurance, Intellectual Property, International Arbitration, Mergers & Acquisitions, Mutual Funds, Private Funds/Hedge Funds, Railroad, Securities/Capital Markets, Securitization and Structured Finance, Tax and Transportation Law.
