Peter W. Smith has joined Thompson Hine as a partner in the firm’s Atlanta office. Smith, who was formerly with Hogan & Hartson, joins the firm’s corporate transactions and securities practice. He will also work in Thompson Hine’s New York office.

Smith’s practice focuses on companies in several fields, including telecommunications and media and entertainment. He also has extensive experience in copyright, trademark, trade secret and privacy issues, according to a firm press release.

Thompson Hine was founded in 1911 and has approximately 400 lawyers. It has offices in Atlanta, Brussels, Cincinnati, Cleveland, Columbus, New York and Washington D.C.
