Massive Defection at Dickstein Shapiro

Wed, Dec 23, 2009

Faces, Home, Law Firms

Sources are reporting that anywhere from 12 to 15 lawyers are moving from Dickstein Shapiro to the neighboring office of Kasowitz, Benson, Torres & Friedman, including the managing partner of Dickstein Shapiro’s New York office, Robin Cohen. Cohen, who represents corporations in insurance claims, was named one of the 50 most influential female lawyers by the National Law Journal.

There is some disagreement among sources as to the exact number of defections or the timing on the move. According to The American Lawyer, Dickstein Shapiro is expected to try to convince the lawyers to stay.

Dickstein Shapiro LLP, founded in 1953, is a multi-service law firm with more than 400 attorneys in Washington, DC, New York, and Los Angeles.
