Salary Thaw at Akin Gump

Mon, Dec 21, 2009

Home, Law Firms

Akin Gump has lifted its salary freeze and is planning to pay out bonuses, according to a memo sent out by firm chairman, Bruce McLean. Of course, that’s based on Akin Gump’s compensation system which isn’t strictly a base salary. To earn market level salaries, associates must meet quarterly billed hour quotas. That said, even the base salary isn’t bad, compared to some of the salary cuts we’ve been seeing lately.

If anyone has information on the Akin Gump bonuses, we’re anxious to hear it. You can send us an anonymous tip here.

Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld LLP was founded in Dallas in 1945 by Robert Strauss and Richard Gump. The firm now numbers more than 900 attorneys and advisers in the United States, Europe, Asia and the Middle East.
