Henry White has resigned as the executive director of the American Bar Association. R. Thomas Howell, the organization’s general counsel, has stepped in as interim executive direction. In the mean time, a search committee has been appointed to find a permanent replacement for White.

The ABA is the world’s largest voluntary membership professional organization, counting over 40,000 members on its rolls. Among other things, the ABA is in charge of law school accreditation.
