“Survivor” Meets “The Practice”, Coming to a Cable Station near You

New York trial lawyer Joseph Tacopina is in discussions to lead a reality TV show called “Legal Ease”. Tacopina says he was first approached about doing a legal based reality TV show several years ago but was uneasy with the concept, which involved following a client’s case as it unfolded. Tacopina said it felt too much like exploiting a client. The new format would consist of a panel of lawyers offering free legal advice to participants. There would be no retainers paid and the participants would not be clients of the lawyers involved. Tacopina says that in addition to being good entertainment, it would also help people.

There is no deal in place to air the show yet, but the executive producers are currently shopping it around. Note to the producers: legalease.com is unavailable, but legal-ease.com may be for sale.
