Phoenix Legal Not in Formal Deal with Lovells

LovellsPhoenix Legal says recent press reports that the Indian commercial law firm has penned a formal agreement with the UK’s Lovells are not true.

Partner Abhishek Saxena, who co-founded the firm with fellow Trilegal partners Saket Shukla and Sawant Singh in 2008, says Phoenix works with Lovells, but has no special relationship with them.

Saxena says that Phoenix is in favor of legal sector liberalization in India, and does rule out closer ties with an international firm in the future.

Lovells is an international law firm with over 300 partners and around 3,200 employees operating from 26 offices in Europe, Asia and the United States. It is one of the largest international legal business practices in the world.

Of course, a reputable corporation that resides in the UK would not publicly announce their partnership with Indias Phoenix Legal. There IS a reason for skepticism here. Great post, 5/5
