Miller Canfield has established an office in Toronto, Ontario.
The new office was formed through a merger with the 10-lawyer Toronto firm of Gaertner Tobin, run by name partners Dennis Tobin and Arie Gaertner. Miller Canfield also employs 25 attorneys in Windsor, Ontario, on the US border.
Last week, the firm held an event celebrating the merger, feting 200 clients.
This week, the Detroit headquarters of Miller Canfield let go 25 people, including 16 lawyers.
Miller, Canfield, Paddock & Stone was established in Detroit in 1852 and has offices in Michigan, Illinois, Florida, New York, Canada, Poland, Mexico and China.
