Allen & Overy has expanded its presence in Singapore, after hiring all ten lawyers at Venture Law.

The move gives Allen & Overy 44 lawyers in the island city-state, including nine partners.

Partners Lock Yin Mei, Venture Law’s managing director, and Kenny Kwan join Allen & Overy as capital markets partners. Until March, Venture Law was affiliated with White & Case.

Allen & Overy formerly had a long-standing relationship with Singapore’s Shook Lin & Bok, but ended the alliance last month.

Founded in 1930, Allen & Overy has approximately 5,500 staff in 31 offices worldwide. It is part of the Magic Circle of London-based law firms.
