Squire Sanders Fires 30 Lawyers, Decimates Salaries

Squire SandersSquire Sanders has announced it is cutting associate salaries by 10% in May.

Online rumors say the law firm fired 30 attorneys last Friday. Squire Sanders let go 30 people last November, plus a handful in January.

Tipsters say the announcements were made by voice mail.

The firm recently pushed back incoming associate start dates to January, 2010, and has informed last year’s 1Ls they are not being invited back this summer.

Founded in 1890, Squire, Sanders & Dempsey LLP has 32 offices in 15 countries across the globe.
