Former North Carolina Democratic Governor Mike Easley is joining the Raleigh offices of Richmond, Virginia’s McGuire Woods.
Two former aides from Easley’s scandal-ridden administration, Franklin Freeman and Ruffin Poole, will also join the firm.
Another ex-Governor, North Carolina Republican Jim Martin, joined McGuire Woods as a senior adviser last summer.
McGuire Woods is a 900-lawyer firm that has offices in 15 US cities including New York, Washington DC, Los Angeles and Chicago. It has existing international offices in Brussels and Almaty.
