Volunteer Lawyers for Justice to Hold Job Fair for Deferred Associates

Volunteer Lawyers for JusticeVolunteer Lawyers for Justice is holding a job fair next week for deferred associates who want public interest jobs in the interim before they start at their firms.

Many firms have offered their deferred incoming associates a stipend of they find employment at an approved organization.

The “Deferred Associates Fair” will be held on April 8th at the New Jersey Performing Arts Center in Newark. The nonprofit Volunteer Lawyers for Justice trains volunteer attorneys to provide free legal assistance to low-income clients.

Twelve public interest legal organizations have signed up to participate so far, and there could be 20 or more represented at the event. Several law school clinics are also scheduled to attend.
