Rumor: Layoffs Today at Akin Gump

Akin GumpToday is a busy day for legal industry layoff rumors.

Blawgs are now reporting that Akin Gump is either laying off lawyers today, or has chosen lawyers it will lay off next week.

The firm laid off 65 staff in January, and said at that time it did not expect any attorney cuts.

Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld LLP was founded in Dallas in 1945 by Robert Strauss and Richard Gump. The firm now numbers more than 900 attorneys and advisors in the United States, Europe, Asia and the Middle East.
