Minneapolis intellectual-property law firm Merchant & Gould is cutting 33 jobs, or 13% of its work force, citing the economic meltdown.
The cuts include two partners, two patent agents, four associates and 25 other employees. The firm now has 215 employees, down from 248.
The firm has offices in Denver, Atlanta, Knoxville, Omaha, Seattle, and Washington, DC.
Prior to the cuts, Merchant & Gould was the 15th-ranked law firm in the Twin Cities by number of local lawyers.
