Am Law 100 firm Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher reports that gross revenue rose 5.4% to $957 million in 2008.

Gibson Dunn’s profits per partner declined 1.3% to $1.9 million, while revenue per lawyer dropped 4.3% to $1 million.

In May, Gibson Dunn announced the opening of an office in Singapore, bringing the firm’s office total to 15.

The Los Angeles-founded firm added 25 lateral partners, more than double the number of laterals it hired during any prior year. The 920-lawyer firm’s legal talent grew by 10%.

The firm intends to attract more laterals in 2009.

Founded in 1890, Gibson Dunn has almost 1000 attorneys and over 2000 staff located in 15 offices around the world.

  1. Funny how GD&C didn’t mention the number of attorneys they laid off on March 27th. They only mentioned that they laid off 36 staff when, in fact, they laid off about 65 people firmwide (including attorneys), but they kept that quiet. I guess that would be bad for their reputation, especially after they claimed 1 month earlier that there would be no layoffs.
