Palo Alto, California’s Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati is eliminating 45 associate and 68 staff positions. CEO John Roos alerted firm employees yesterday.
Wilson Sonsini stated that its decision was economic and not based on worker performance.
The firm is freezing associate pay, but still will hand out associate bonuses.
In addition to Palo Alto, Wilson Sonsini has offices in Austin, New York, San Diego, San Francisco, Seattle and Shanghai. Prior to the reductions, the firm had about 620 attorneys. The firm specializes in business, securities, and intellectual property law.
