Cadwalader Loses Partner; Fires Associates in New York, Charlotte

New York City’s Cadwalader Wickersham & Taft, America’s oldest law firm, has lost another partner from its Manhattan office as the firm cuts associates.

Mayer Brown has poached reinsurance partner and disputes specialist Clifford Schoenberg.

Earlier this month, bankruptcy partners Bruce Zirinsky and John Bae moved to Greenberg Traurig.

We reported that seven partners walked out after earnings fell 40%.

Today nine associates were fired in the firm’s New York and Charlotte, North Carolina offices. There were also salary cuts in Charlotte.
