Facebook Looking for [ ]Friendship, [ ]Dating, [X]Legal Counsel

Facebook logoPalo Alto, California-based social networking web site Facebook is looking for private US law firms willing to help resolve an on-going patent dispute.

The popular site is facing a patent infringement dispute with patent troll Leader Technologies. Leader accuses Facebook of infringing its patented “method and system for the management and storage of electronic information.”

The website has been the subject of several previous patent and IP lawsuits.

Paul Andre‚ of Atlanta’s King & Spalding and Philip Rovner of Delaware’s Potter Anderson & Corroon are acting for Leader. They are seeking unspecified damages and injunctive relief from Facebook.

Facebook says it has yet to choose its legal adviser and claims the matter has no merit.
